IDW Publishing has announced that they will be releasing a brand-new comic book based on the lore of the popular fantasy tabletop role-playing game series Dungeons & Dragons. The five-issue limited series, titled Dungeons & Dragons: A Darkened Wish, is set to begin this February.

Written by B. Dave Walters with art by Tess Fowler, Dungeons & Dragons: A Darkened Wish will take readers to the Forgotten Realms to experience the story of Helene, a young wizard from Mintarn, as she and her friends must become skilled warriors to defeat an evil foe who has disrupted the peace enjoyed by the Sea of Swords.
“I’ve been adventuring in the Forgotten Realms for a long time and having the honor of contributing to that world is incredibly exciting,” said Walters. “I can’t wait to show the fans the power and intensity of a truly epic D&D story!”
“I have dreamed of making Dungeons & Dragons comics since I was twelve years old, but A Darkened Wish is beyond anything I could have hoped for.” Fowler added. “Working with B. Dave Walters on this projects is the coolest.”

Dungeons & Dragons: A Darkened Wish is slated to begin in Feb. 2019.
